The Journey

Kiran Poudel is the Founder and Managing Partner of Wisdom Law Associates, with a practice focused on public procurement, arbitration, and complex dispute resolution. A top-ranked achiever in the Nepal Bar Council Examination (2017), he combines academic excellence with sector-specific expertise and nearly a decade of practical legal experience.

Currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Sharda University, India, his research focuses on pre-arbitration procedures in public procurement disputes, reflecting his continued commitment to advancing knowledge in this specialized area of law.

Known for his meticulous case preparation, persuasive legal drafting, and effective courtroom advocacy, Kiran represents clients across a broad range of litigation, arbitration, and commercial disputes. Why Specialization Matters

As Nepal has undertaken increasingly ambitious infrastructure and development projects including expressways, hydropower plants, transmission lines, airports, and other large-scale public works the legal and contractual frameworks governing these projects have become significantly more complex. Procurement disputes today often involve intricate contractual provisions, regulatory compliance, technical evidence, and international standards such as FIDIC.

Recognizing this evolving landscape early in his career, Kiran chose to focus his practice on public procurement, construction law, and arbitration. Through years of dedicated practice, academic research, and extensive experience in litigation and arbitral proceedings, he has developed a deep understanding of the legal and commercial challenges that arise in high-value infrastructure projects. This focused approach enables him to advise clients not only on resolving disputes but also on anticipating legal risks, interpreting complex contractual obligations, and protecting their commercial interests.

But very few have spent a decade mastering both, inside Nepal’s most complex infrastructure disputes, before international tribunals, on contracts worth billions. Beyond the Practice

Outside the courtroom, Kiran is a life member of the Royal Nepal Golf Club and Gokarna Forest Golf Resort. Golf, for him, is more than recreation, it is a discipline of accountability.
